Tour 2 Roman sites of Tripoli 6 days

The Libyan coast was the cradle of the most brilliant civilizations : Phoenician, Greek, Carthaginian, Roman, Byzantine…

Nowadays, the historical monuments are still very attractive :
Considerable expansions have occurred at the powerful Greek city of Cyrene and its ports Appolonia, Ptolemais and then later, at Tripolitania and Cyrenaica as well where the challenge was to be taken up by Rome until the 5th century, in the whole Mediterranean basin.

Itineraries

1st Day
Arrival to Tripoli :
(From Tripoli Airport ).and night at hotel

2nd Day
Tripoli - Sabratha - Tripoli : 150 km.
Morning visit to Tripoli : Museum, the Souks, the Medina "Old city", some ancient Turkish Houses, the Triumph Arch of Marcus Aurelus.
Afternoon : we discover Sabratha with its superb mosaic museum, Punic and Roman ruins and especially its wonderful theater.

3rd Day
After breakfast, departure to YEFREN, visit of the village, we will continue our journey to NALUT and take lunch in the town stretched on the top of mountains. We will visit KASRE EL- HADJ, KABAW village and then the KASAR'S sites then back to TRIPOLI for dinner and spending the night at hotel.

4th Day
Tripoli - Leptis Magna - Misiratha : 200 km.
At Leptis Magna, we discover the beauties that Romans have left :The Triumph Arch of Septimus Severes, the Hadrian Baths, the nymph, the forum, the Severian Basilica, the old forum, the market, the theater, the old Roman port, the amphitheater with the circus, and the museum . In the Evening : Departure to Musrata: Dinner and overnight.

5th Day
After breakfast, visit the Tripoli Museum and the Marcus Aurelius arch in the old town. Quick lunch, tour in the old town and the souk (market). Dinner and spending the night at hotel.

6th Day
Transfer to Airport to fly home : 30 km.
